Chapter 7
Unable to find Arianna, Fenrir stormed back to his office, his mind clouded with anger and frustration. He sank into his chair, fuming, as memories of Aurora began to surface, unbidden and relentless.
Aurora had always been there by his side, a calm and steady presence who ruled as Luna with a gentle strength.
She wasn’t just obedient as his wife; she was dedicated and compassionate, always putting the needs of the pack before her own.
She had managed her responsibilities with dignity, never once demanding recognition or praise.
Yet he had let her go, cast her aside as if her quiet resilience had been a weakness rather than a strength.
Now, with Arianna’s selfishness and her disregard for others becoming glaringly obvious, he couldn’t help but feel the sting of regret.
Just then, his Beta, Nathan, entered the office. He looked at Fenrir knowingly, as if reading his thoughts, and after a moment, he broke the silence. “I know what’s on your mind, Alpha. You’re thinking about Luna Aurora, aren’t you?”
Fenrir’s jaw tightened. “It’s not like that, Nathan. I made my choice,” he said, his voice laced with forced conviction.
Nathan shook his head, clearly unconvinced. “Aurora was everything a Luna should be, Fenrir. She respected everyone, treated the pack with kindness and loyalty, and you… you left her for someone who doesn’t even respect you as the Alpha.”
Fenrir’s gaze darkened, his fists clenching. “You don’t know the full story, Nathan.”
