Clarissa caused Shiloh’s death. She feared that Shiloh would compete with Kathryn, so she heartlessly killed her adopted daughter, whom she had raised for over 20 years. 
As soon as Marco left, his two younger brothers followed him. 
They walked behind Marco, turning to glare at Kathryn. After leaving the office, they caught up with Marco and asked, “Are we really going to take a leave of absence? Now that Mom is gone, the company is leaderless. If we don’t handle it, we might get kicked out soon.” 
Noel whispered, “Didn’t Dad tell us to grab whatever we can now? We need to figure out how to get more money.” 
Whether it was Kathryn or Liberty taking over, they knew they had to secure as much money as possible before leaving. After Clarissa’s death, staying at Farrell Group would be difficult. 
Even if Kathryn took charge, they wouldn’t stay in Farrell Group.

“Second brother, don’t say that kind of thing here,” Sage said, giving Noel a nudge and speaking softly. 
There were cameras everywhere in the office. 
If Kathryn checked the footage, she’d hear their conversation. 
Marco took a deep breath and said, “It’s nearly the end of the year, and the company is super busy with urgent orders before the New Year holiday. Plus, with Mom gone, things are chaotic. But the messier it is, the more closely Kathryn will keep an eye on me. Let’s head to the hospital to see Dad first and update him on the situation.” 
The three brothers got into the elevator. 
Noel muttered bitterly, “We don’t even know if Kathryn is really one of us. How can she be so different from our family?” 
Marco stayed silent for a moment before saying, “She is a true daughter of the Farrell family, unlike us. She takes after Mom in many ways, but she still has a conscience. She has a limit to how far she’ll go, unlike Mom.” 
“Who can we blame for not being Farrells by blood, so we have to let her hold us back?” said Noel. 
“Dad knows what kind of person Kathryn is, which is why he told us to take the valuables from the mansion before she and her Wiltspoon allies make their move.” 
“I don’t get it. Even if she didn’t grow up with us and isn’t close to us, she’s been back for two or three years now. She barely knows those people from Wiltspoon. How could she side with them?” 
“Mom died angry because Kathryn chose them over her.” 
Sage said, “Why wasn’t it Kathryn who died? If Shiloh were still alive, Mom might still be here. Shiloh would have sided with Mom for sure. Mom tried to make a move against Liberty, but Kathryn warned Liberty in time.” 
“Well, now Mom has completely lost. Kathryn doesn’t seem guilty at all. Isn’t she worried that Mom’s ghost will come after her?” 
Marco looked at his brother and said, “Mom actually wanted to protect Kathryn. If she hadn’t been there that night, we might have been in big trouble. Mom always tried to give Kathryn a way out.” 
“Mom ended her own life out of fear of the consequences, but really, she did it to save Kathryn. Once she knew her plans had failed, she couldn’t fight anymore. Kathryn begged her to stop making mistakes, and that’s why Mom took her own life.”
