Chapter 382 She Will Find out the Truth
"Look at the Seyben Group, the top shareholder with 20% of the shares. What can you think of?"
Cecelia perused the information. "I can't get anything from the surface."
"Right, you can't get anything. Then reverse the word order and read the compound again."
Cecelia reversed the word order and read the compound, "Bensey... Bensey, Bensey..."
A name suddenly flashed across her mind. Cecelia was enlightened and responded, "Is it him-Benson Quinsey?"
"I've done an investigation. It's him! The Seyben Group is an independent company, not under his name, so it's hard to find it out."
Cecelia knitted her eyebrows. When she thought of Benson's unusually beautiful face, her face turned cold.
"It looks like it's really wrong to judge a book by its cover. He has ambitiously taken so much, but he still wants to get more by working with me. Is he trying to annex the Songo Group?"
Remington analyzed, "Now we don't know whether the 20% shares were given to him by your great-uncle or obtained secretly by himself. If it is the latter, I believe he wants to avenge her mother and get back what she deserved; but if it is the former, then that's an interesting story!"
Upon learning that the Seyben Group held shares, Cecelia's trust in Benson was halved.
She would find out Benson's role in this!
After coming out of the law firm, Remington received a call from Adam. He got in the car and said, "Go to Kevin now. He says he has found an important clue."
The two drove to meet Adam. The latter told his sister what he had unintentionally found, "Sis, while I was investigating the Songos, I accidentally got an important message by eavesdropping."
"What is the message?"
"A man who professed to be Brett called Chris many times to ask for money, threatening that if Chris didn't give him money, he would disclose what happened five years ago.
"It was clearly a blackmail, but Chris never had the guts to call the police. In the past three months, he has remitted money to Brett three times, with about 45,000 dollars each time. The latest remitting happened in the daytime today."
After hearing Adam's report, Cecelia was lost in thought. "What is the dirty thing Chris asked him to do five years ago? Then Brett used it as a threat to blackmail him repeatedly. What on earth is it?"
"If we want to know what it is, find Brett and ask him. We'll get the answer," Remington suggested.
"Good idea. Can you track down Brett, Kevin?" Cecelia asked.
"I've tapped his phone and found his location. He's now in the Phoenix Entertainment City."
"Go, let's go to the Phoenix Entertainment City."
They went to the Phoenix Entertainment City with their subordinates. Cecelia and Remington didn't get out of the car. It was Adam who went to the entertainment city to look for Brett with their team.
The Phoenix Entertainment City was a place where the visitors enjoyed luxury. The underground casino was boiling with liveliness.
Brett, the slovenly man with stubble, was in the crowd of gamblers. He would never leave until he had lost all his money.
He had bought chips with the 45,000 dollars he got in the daytime, but he lost all of them in a few hours.
He became irritated after losing his money. He wished to win his money back, but he didn't have a penny in his pocket. With a cigarette between his lips, he reached out to feel for his phone all over his body.
Once he got his phone, he was to call Chris to "borrow" money again. But before he could take a few steps, two unknown men suddenly flanked him and took his arms.
"Ouch, what are you doing? I don't know you..."
"Mr. Songo wants to see you!" the two men whispered to Brett. One of them pressed a dagger against his waist, and he stopped talking.
