Brody grimaced in pain. He said, “Adam, don’t go too far. Or don’t blame me for being rude.”
“That’s funny. Can you beat me?” Adam looked at Brody contemptuously. Then he turned around. and walked away gracefully.
Brody clenched his fists angrily and said, “Wait and see!”
When Adam returned to the venue, Lumma peeked at him, unable to see his emotion. “Mr. Hills, you should have heard us just now. I didn’t agree to help him.’ Adam looked at her and said, “Is it because you are afraid of me?”
Lumma shook her head. “No, it’s because I respect you. And I will never do anything to offend Mrs. Hills. No one can destroy the relationship between you.”
While chatting, Adam suddenly asked, “Where do you want to live in Red Pine City?”
Lumma liked the houses in those two places mentioned by Brody. But no matter how she liked them, she still couldn’t afford them.
She smiled but did not answer this question. “Mr. Hills, the meeting has begun.”
After getting no answer from Lumma, Adam sent Arty a message. [Contact Lumma at 6:30 in the evening. Ask her where the house she likes in Red Pine City. I will buy it for her.]
Arty quickly replied. [Adam, are you okay?]
Adam: [What do you want to say?]
Arty: [You always wanted to get a divorce, but you regretted it on the day of the divorce. Now you want to give her a house. What’s wrong with you? Are you doing it for charity?]
Adam: [She is my registered wife. We are a legal couple protected by law. I buy a house and register it under her name. What’s the problem?]
Arty: [No problem, as long as you are happy.]
Adam: [Call her at six thirty in the evening.]
