Married to the Boss: A Love in Disguise Chapter 221

Though he knew the pictures were doctored, Selena was still so scared that his hands were trembling. “Darling, these pictures are photoshopped by someone trying to frame me. I swear I haven’t done anything to hurt you.

Lucy Beasley’s piercing voice came through the phone. “Selena, do you think I’m an idiot? You’re just an interior decorator, not some big shot, who would bother framing you?”

Selena felt as if he couldn’t clear his name even if he died. “Darling, please believe me, someone really is trying to set me up… I swear, if I’ve betrayed you, I won’t die a peaceful death.”

Lucy was livid. “Selena, not only do you not admit your mistakes, you argue with me. I can’t go on

like this with you.’

“Darling, I swear…” Selena hadn’t finished his sentence when he was interrupted by Lucy. “If you’re not willing to admit it, then don’t bother coming home.”

No matter how Selena explained, he couldn’t convince his wife that he was framed.

He didn’t have any enemies, who would want to frame him?

Without much thought, he quickly thought of Lucas who he had just talked to on the phone.

Selena dialed a number. “Mr. Bergman, I was just joking with you. You didn’t have to take it

seriously.”

Adam responded nonchalantly, “What?”

Selena said, “Stop pretending. I know you had those pictures photoshopped and sent to my wife. I was wrong, I apologize to you, can you explain to my wife? If you don’t clarify, she’s definitely going to divorce me.”

Adam chuckled. “Why were you wrong?”

After inspecting everything, it took over two hours. Luckily, the developer was good, as they only found two hollow tiles on the kitchen wall.

Once Lumma finished the inspection, there were still Harry and Ruby. By the time all three houses were checked, it was already seven in the evening.

Lumma tried to give the inspector a 300 dollar tip according to the market price, but the inspector

refused to take it.

Left with no other choice, Lumma went downstairs with him to a small store and bought him a Red Bull, which the inspector happily accepted.

After the inspector left, Lumma bought three bottles of mineral water. When she was paying, Adam, suddenly appeared behind her. “Lumma, could you get a bottle for me as well?”

“Alright.” Adam usually drank a specific brand of mineral water, but this small shop didn’t carry his preferred brand. So, Lumma bought him the most expensive water they had. “Mr. Hills, are you alright with this water?”

Adam took the bottle, unscrewed the cap, and took two sips. “I may not be as picky as you think.”

Adam was not picky?
