If it was something else, Lumma might not be able to give any useful advice, and could only be Louisa’s loyal listener.
As the author of the original work, she had a say in this matter.
After listening to Louisa, Lumma said softly and slowly, “Louisa, people have their own thoughts about the role. You don’t have to care too much about what the original author thinks. You just follow your thoughts to act it.”
“I think so. I did it before. But this time…” Louisa didn’t know if Lumma could understand her worry. The more she cared about something, the more she wanted to do it well, and the more she worried about not doing it well.
“Louisa, I’ve also read this comic. Do you want to hear my interpretation of Jessie?” Lumma’s voice’ was soft, wonderfully able to soothe restless hearts.
Louisa exclaimed, “You have read this comic too! That’s great, tell me about it.”
“Jessie was born in troubled times, and she didn’t have a family that could protect her. Her tragic fate was already doomed. But she didn’t accept her fate. She betrayed herself in such an extreme way to get a new life. She was very strong, and she had her own stubbornness. She used her own way to make all those who bullied her and looked down on her admire her later. She did it. But she also lost the most important thing because of it…” Jessie was created by Lumma after a long time and hard work. But Lumma didn’t give this character an ending.
Many readers hoped that the author could draw a happy ending for Jessie. And Lumma also hopes that Jessie could be happier than everyone else.
However, some things Jessie did were too cruel. Because of some reason, it seemed that there could not be a happy ending.
Louisa asked, “Lumma, do you think Jessie is alive in the end? Will she be happy?”
Lumma smiled. “The author didn’t draw an ending. Maybe it’s for the readers to choose. If you want her to live a happy life, then she will definitely do what you want.”
