Adam caught her that was thrown into his arms and gently patted her back. “Lumma, you are not wrong. You don’t need to say sorry. Forget everything about what happened, live a good life, do you understand?”
“No, I don’t want to understand. I just want you to come back.” Lumma kept roaring. Her body trembling like a wounded little animal.
Adam held her in his arms and comforted her non-stop. But it was of no use at all. She seemed to have fallen into a terrible world, completely immersed in her own world, unable to save herself.
In a daze, Lumma went back to her childhood, to the scene of the car accident. With her small body, she lay in the blood and watched helplessly as her father, who was also lying in the blood, slowly closed his eyes.
“Dad…” A mouthful of blood spewed out of Lumma’s mouth, and then she lost consciousness as well.
“Lumma.” Adam watched Lumma in his arms losing consciousness, and looked at Velez sharply. “Why is she like this?”
Velez immediately explained, “Mr. Hills, don’t worry. All of your wife’s reactions are within my expectations. I must first awaken the fear hidden in her heart and let her face reality bravely. Only by facing it head-on, I can pull it out from her heart completely.”
Adam also understood. But seeing Lumma suffering, he still felt worried and afraid. If possible, he would rather suffer this for Lumma. “Is there any way to alleviate her pain?”
“Mr. Hills, let me prescribe some sedative medicine first.” Velez took out a bottle of medicine from the box he carried with him. “Mr. Hills, please feed your wife half a pill first, and let her have a good sleep first. As long as she still remembers the car accident when she wakes up, it will be easy to treat later.”
“Don’t forget what I said.” After saying the harsh words, Adam carried Lumma to the second floor and put Lumma in the bedroom where she used to live.
