As he gazed at her sweet smile, Adam’s heart turned soft. “Do you… like it?”
Whether it was due to the alcohol or the warm indoor temperature, Lumma’s face had already acquired a faint blush. She nodded with a smile, “Yes, I like it! Who wouldn’t enjoy such a beautiful light show from the best viewing spot for free?”
The word “free” made Adam pause for a moment. He cautiously asked, “If the light show was prepared by Lucas for you, would you still like it?”
Lumma, who had just been praising the light show, shook her head vigorously.
“This thing is just a waste of money. Only fools would like it when their husbands spend money on flashy things like this. Why not invest the money or keep it in the bank for emergencies? Why waste it on these superficial things?”
Adam remained silent.
It seemed that not only could he not tell Lumma that the light show was arranged by him in advance, but even in the future, when she discovered his identity as Lucas, he couldn’t tell her either. Otherwise, she would worry about the money spent again.
The light show continued, displaying a brilliant array of colors that were truly mesmerizing.
Perhaps due to the alcohol, Lumma loosened up a bit more. She handed her phone to Adam and said, “Mr. Hills, could you please take a video of me with the light show?”
“Sure.” Seeing Lumma’s playful expressions through the camera lens, Adam couldn’t help but lightly poke her face on the phone screen. Seeing his wife intoxicated like this, she was even more adorable and tempting.
After enjoying the beautiful scenery and finishing their meal, they prepared to leave. Lumma had finished an entire bottle of wine by herself, so her steps were unsteady as she descended the stairs.
Adam reached out and lightly held her wrist. He didn’t dare exert too much force or get too close to her. He was afraid that she would resist him.
