“You gave them money?” This was the first time Ruby had heard of these things. Their indiscriminate kindness really pissed her off.
She knew that her father was kind–hearted. If anyone turned to him, he would do everything within his power to help. For that, he had lost a lot of money over the years.
If they let him continue to act like this, all their pension would probably be kited in the end.
Today she must get rid of the scourge and knock sense into her father. “Dad, if you don’t drive them away, I’ll call the police and let them drive these people away. This is my house. Why should my mother and I be the ones to leave?”
“Bah! Did you learn this from that bitch too?” Gianna spat and continued to curse, “Call the police as you like. It’s said that the prison provides free food. My son and I can spend the New Year in it.”
Andrew tugged at Ruby’s sleeve. “Ruby, don’t make a scene. We’re all family here. Let’s not make things worse. Today is the New Year, and you only come back once a year. Let’s have a good family reunion.”
“Do you really think we can do that?” Ruby pushed her parents into their room, snatched the key, and locked the door. “Just stay out of it. Leave it to me.”
If she didn’t teach these awful people a lesson today, they would not know who the real host of this house was.
When Harry arrived after receiving Ruby’s call, Gianna and her son were sitting on the floor, gnawing on chicken drumsticks with relish.
Harry shot Ruby a glance and said, “Tally up how much property they’ve damaged in your house. The bigger the number, the better. This is called trespassing, and they will be sentenced to serve in prison.”
