Chapter 358
However, Charlie was willing to put up with Theresa’s father for her sake and decided not to haggle over how her father defamed him.
Theresa said, “How can I trust you?” She didn’t believe him at all now. Even if he had promised,
what about the others?
Charlie said, “If you don’t trust me, how can you know whether I can do that?”
Theresa was speechless.
“Well, I’m going downstairs.” He tapped on the back of her hand and went out in his wheelchair. Theresa left him alone and went about her business.
Before long, Ben came back.
She then went downstairs to welcome Ben and was a little surprised to see Pat, Charlie, and a young man sitting in the living room, who was very good–looking, wearing a black sweater with his jacket laid on one side. She hadn’t seen him for quite a long time, having not expected to see him here.
When the man saw her, he was also a little stunned, seeming to recognize her as well.
Without a word, Theresa glanced at Charlie and went straight out to welcome Ben. When she went out, she saw Ben, who was carrying his small schoolbag and wearing a beret with a lollipop in his mouth, standing at the door, and Cristina standing right next to him. She walked up to Cristina and said, “I thought you said you were not coming.”
Cristina said, “Is Eugene in there?”
Theresa looked at her nervous look, “Yes! I didn’t expect him to know Charlie.”
Cristina said, “Me, neither.” She had followed Eugene here, having not expected to arrive at
Calsis’s Residence.
“Aren’t you going in?” Theresa looked at her and said, “What are you doing here? It’s cold
outside.”
