Chapter 396
“Do you think she’ll say yes?” Theresa sneered. She knew Cristina had never forgotten Eugene, but he had. broken her heart and she wouldn’t agree to marry him so easily.
Eugene said, “I don’t know, so I was hoping you could help me.”
“I won’t help you,” Theresa refused outright.
“Aren’t we friends?”
“I’m Cristina’s friend, not yours.” Theresa gave Eugene a look. They were from the same university and he and Cristina knew each other because of her, but she was totally on Cristina’s side and didn’t want to talk. to him!
Eugene asked, “Why did you say your children were Cristina’s?”
Theresa frowned. “Mr. Oneill, don’t threaten me with this. I won’t betray my friend.”
Eugene said, “You know Cristina likes me. I just want to be with her. You don’t have to do anything except speak up for me. What do you think?”
“Then why did you leave her? I don’t understand.”
Eugene lowered his eyes. Something had happened to his family back then.
“Uncle.” At that moment, Rose came downstairs, approached Eugene, and sat down beside him. She glanced at Eugene and then at Theresa across the table. “Uncle, why are you here so early? What were you talking about?” She looked at Theresa suspiciously.
Eugene looked at her. “Nothing. Why are you up so early?”
“I couldn’t sleep.”
Theresa stood up and went to the kitchen.
