Chapter 441
Leah did not want her daughter to marry Charlie before, but now that Charlie stood up, Leah was filled with regrets. Charlie had always been distant and never like them much. He was always cold towards Sarah. No matter how hard Sarah tried, his attitude never changed. If Leah had known Charlie would be able to stand again, she would not have told Sarah to escape the marriage.
After all, Charlie was so kind towards Theresa, who was a divorced woman. If Sarah did not leave but had taken care of him instead, they would be much closer. Sarah was annoyed just hearing about Charlie.
“Why do I still have to hear that name even after I cut all ties with him?”
She took out her phone and sent a message to Eugene.
[Eugene, mua, love you!]
Eugene blocked her on her other account, this was another account.
Leah looked at her daughter, poked her and said, “Sarah Cameron, are you listening?”
“Mom, in the future, I don’t want to hear anything related to Charlie! Also, stop joking about him being able to stand again. If he really can stand, pigs can fly! I’m exhausted and going to sleep,” Sarah replied. She then went straight upstairs.
Leah stood still and looked at her. Sarah should be the concerned one, but instead, Leah was more concerned than she was.
It was a windy night. Cristina left her office building with her shoulders raised trying to keep herself warm. Just as she was thinking about getting a cab, she saw Eugene’s car parked on the side and Eugene standing by it. He was tall and wearing a windbreaker. Cristina pretended to not see him and was about to leave, but
Eugene stopped her and said, “Cristina.”
Cristina turned around but did not respond.
“Get in the car,” Eugene said.
