Chapter 605
Jonathan picked up his phone, found Cristina’s number, and called.
“Ms. Lagarde.”
Cristina was with Eugene. She had just returned after work and the two of them were eating the dinner Eugene had cooked. Hearing Jonathan’s voice, Cristina’s heart skipped a beat. She could guess why Jonathan called her at this time.
She did her best to act calm and asked, “If it isn’t Mr. Gay, what is it?”
“Are you at home? Mr. Calsis said he’s going over to pick up his kids.”
Cristina did not know what to say.
‘He must think his kids are with me!”
Theresa had already brought the kids away and Charlie had no idea.
‘Hmph! He deserves it! Why did he have to detest Theresa? She would not have divorced him if not because of that. She liked him so much and even saw him as her hope, but what about him? He became a prick right after he stood up! Asshole!’
As Cristina thought of all that, she found an excuse and said, “I brought the kids back to my hometown, I’m planning to spend the festival with them.”
“And where is that?” Jonathan asked.
Charlie sat on the side and watched Jonathan talk on the phone.
Cristina said, “I’ll send them back after the festival. What, they’re my children, can’t I spend the festival with them? Isn’t Charlie too controlling? The kids love being with me, and it just so happens I’m on holiday as well.”
Jonathan said, “Ms. Lagarde, it’s best to send the kids back here! This is the first year they’ll be spending at home, the people in the family all want to celebrate the new year with them.”
“And I want to do that too,” Cristina said, “Tell Charlie to wait.”
Cristina hung up. She was afraid that if she said too much, she would let the cat out of the bag. She then sent a message to Theresa telling her that Jonathan had called.
Eugene, who was sitting opposite her, asked, “Who was that?”
