Chapter 753 A Bad Daddy
“How is she doing? I’m worried about her.” Concern was written all over Brenda’s face.
Cristina was her niece. After taking care of Cristina for all these years, she had already treated Cristina as if she was her own daughter.
Theresa whispered, “Eugene should still be inside the room with her.”
Frozen for a moment, Brenda soon came back to her sense and discard all thoughts of checking on Cristina in person. She coughed. “She’s very much her own man.”
Inside the room, Cristina heard all their conversation. She was rendered speechless. Eugene and she
merely lay in the bed together last night. They didn’t do anything else. Why did Brenda speak as if they had had sex…
Casting a glance at the man beside her, Cristina uttered with exasperation, “Forget it. Let’s get up for breakfast!”
She didn’t want them to further misunderstand it.
Theresa then went to the boys’ room to wake them up for breakfast. Once she entered, she saw Charlie dozing with Ben, both fast asleep. The bed was clearly too small for Charlie. It seemed rather cramped after he squeezed himself onto it. Yet their serene sleeping faces melted her heart.
With her eyes riveted on them, she didn’t ruin this heart-warming scene. Standing there quietly for a while, she drew close to them. “Get up. Breakfast’s ready.”
When Ben heard her words, he opened his eyes and sat up, looking at her. “Mommy.”
She beamed. “So glad to see your dad?”
His eyes were glinting with joy.
With a sigh in her heart, she relocated her gaze to Charlie lying next to the boy. She must admit that she was jealous of him. He didn’t spend much with Ben, but Ben admired him deeply. Perhaps, fatherhood was an immortal flame burning forever warmth for his children, strong and silent.
Theresa said to the boy again, “Rouse your father. It’s time for breakfast.”
