Chapter 110: Love or Hate?
It was all a misunderstanding, but Henry still received a lecture.
Jay, unconcerned with explanations, hugged Henry tightly, his voice choked with emotion.“You scared the hell out of me!”
Henry, gasping for air, shoved Jay away.
“I wouldn’t kill myself. Are you an idiot?”
Jay took a step back, Chu Ziyu on one side and Sophia on the other. If anyone was an idiot, it was all three of them.
Henry coughed.“I wasn’t talking about you two.”
Chu
Ziyu looked embarrassed. “I saw you dazed, quiet, like you were struggling with something. Then I saw you running to the roof, and I thought you were going to kill yourself. So, while you were on your phone, I asked you to get me water, then looked through your contacts, found your wife’s number, and called her.”
“I’m so sorry.”
Henry frowned.“When was I dazed?”
“You were stumbling around every morning, walking unsteadily, bumping into the pillars several
times.”
“That’s because the couple next door were making noise all night. I couldn’t sleep.”
Chu Ziyu was embarrassed again. Then… I’ll move you

“You guys go ahead, I’ll head back to the guesthouse.”
“Come with us,” Sophia said to Chu Ziyu.“I mainly want to thank you for taking care of him.” “Uh, okay. Someone’s watching the guesthouse, and my husband is out of town.” Chu Ziyu considered.
Out of town?
Sophia and Henry exchanged glances. Her husband wasn’t out of town; he was in the building behind them, having a passionate encounter.
Chu Ziyu took them to a private restaurant by the river, offering views of the night scenery. Their conversation drifted to their college days. Jay hadn’t gone to college, but hearing about Sophia’s time in America, he interjected, “Henry studied there, too.” “Really? Where?”

“A year? Why?”
Things happened.”

Chu Ziyu nodded, recalling her own experiences.“I also took a year off, then barely finished. My parents invested so much in me, but I…”
Chu Ziyu looked down at her paralyzed legs, silent for a moment, then smiled.“But I’m happy with my life now.”
“That’s right, sister. We’re all born to suffer, but if you can still smile after suffering, then life is worth living. Cheers!” Jay raised his glass to Chu Ziyu.
“Chu Ziyu waved her hand. “I’m pregnant, I can’t drink.”
“Then juice.”
Jay poured Chu Ziyu a glass of juice, and they clinked glasses.
Sophia looked at Chu Ziyu’s stomach. The blanket had covered it before, but now it was clearly visible.
For someone with spinal cord injury and paralysis, pregnancy was a huge burden, especially during labor. There were significant risks.
Yet she was risking it all, while her husband was cheating on her.
Chu Ziyu’s guesthouse was built into the mountain, decorated in a local style, clean and cozy. The view was spectacular, with a river, a suspension bridge, and distant mountains visible from the terrace. Behind the guesthouse was a large expanse of grassland where cattle and sheep grazed. Sophia and Henry sat on the terrace. It was past midnight; they were alone.
Their issues remained unresolved.
“When I broke up with Zoey Smith, she grabbed the steering wheel in a fit of rage, causing the

Sophia was surprised; Henry and Zoey Smith hadn’t been in a loving relationship at the time of the accident, they had been breaking up.
“If I could choose, I wish I’d never met her.”
“What… did she do?”
To hurt him so much.
Henry paused. “While I was risking everything to solve the problems she created, she slept with my roommate.”
Sophia gasped, speechless.
