Just as Matthew was about to board the ship to search for Jayden, his phone rang. 

The ear–piercing ringtone was loud and clear in the dock. After Matthew picked up, the nanny said. “I have bad news, Mr. Grant. Hugo has been holding tightly the doll that Mrs. Grant bought for him. He keeps crying and can’t be coaxed. His voice has become hoarse!” 

Hugo’s deafening cries came from the other end of the phone. Perhaps it was because he missed his mother, but the little guy’s cries made Matthew’s heart clench
