After Emiliano Rogers left, Sofia Schneider asked, “Did you and Emiliano get along today?” 

Nathaniel Hart thought about their day of staring at each other and felt rather exasperated. 

He replied, “In the future, you don’t need to arrange for someone to take care of me. Just focus on your work.” 

“That won’t do. You still need to rest,” Sofia said, her brow furrowing as she looked at Nathaniel. 

“How long have you been out of bed? You’re being disobedient. I’ll have to punish you.” 

“How does darling plan to punish me?” Nathaniel raised an eyebrow.

“Your friend is quite competent,” Nathaniel said. 

Sofia tilted her head, realizing what Nathaniel meant. 

“He really is. Emiliano is responsible and thoughtful. He always handles everything well.”

Seeing Nathaniel had eaten, Sofia said, “Rest well. I’ll go to my room.”

Nathaniel gently touched Sofia’s head and said, “You’ve been very brave all these years.” 

Sofia hadn’t thought much about her hardships, having grown accustomed to them. 

But Nathaniel’s words brought a sudden surge of emotion, making her eyes sting. 

Yes, it had been hard. 

Though her innate talent made learning seem easy, her journey was filled with struggles and challenges far greater than most. She had never been troubled by these things.
