Chapter 14 You Really Don’t Like Me Anymore 

Charley froze in place, unable to believe what she had just heard. 

This woman, who didn’t look like anything good, had the nerve to say what? 

She said she was Nathaniel’s wife? 

Impossible! 

“You’re talking nonsense!” Charley exploded, pointing accusingly at Sofia. 

“Nathaniel couldn’t possibly be married. And even if he were, how could nobody in our family know about it? Do you have no shame, spreading such lies?” 

Sofia remained unfazed by Charley’s anger, calmly responding, “Oh no, silly girl. Both Nathaniel and Grandfather know about it. You might just not have needed to know.” 

“You!” Charley was beside herself with rage. 

What did this damned woman mean by that? 

Was she implying that she, Charley, was insignificant in the Hart family? Not even informed about Nathaniel Hart getting married, a major event? 

The beloved girl of the Hart family couldn’t bear such injustice. Charley pointed at Sofia, her eyes red with fury, but couldn’t find words to say. 

Sofia had no intention of arguing with Charley, but the girl’s lack of manners irked her. 

Moreover, it was clear Charley had brought another woman here to cozy up to Nathaniel. 

Without a second thought, a surge of anger rose in Sofia’s chest, momentarily overshadowing her usual principles of survival in the Schneider family.

She decided she needed to teach this spoiled girl a lesson about adult decorum. 

So, without considering the consequences, Sofia embarrassed Charley thoroughly. 

But seeing Charley almost in tears from embarrassment, Sofia felt a bit speechless.

She had thought Charley was a strong–willed young lady, only to discover she was this sensitive. 

Sofia had only stated a fact, yet it had driven Charley to such an extreme. 

If she had really went all out, this silly girl might have fainted. 

Sofia sighed inwardly, turning to pick up the tray. 

To her surprise, as she turned around, she caught Nathaniel’s teasing gaze. 

Sofia froze, offering Nathaniel an innocent smile. 

She had been foolish, openly bullying someone in front of her brother and grandfather. She must have a death wish. 

But what was with Nathaniel’s look? 

She couldn’t see any sign of displeasure. On the contrary, there seemed to be a hint of admiration. 

Sofia furrowed her brow imperceptibly. 

Was he okay? 

She had bullied his sister, yet he admired her? 

Maybe he didn’t want his sister anymore. 

Charley felt utterly wronged. 

Especially now, her brother didn’t help her and instead gazed affectionately at the woman 

who bullied her. 

Charley burst into tears, threw herself onto the sofa, and clung to Older Mr. Hart’s arm, sobbing, “Grandfather, why was I the last to know? Why didn’t you tell me? Am I not your beloved granddaughter anymore?” 

Older Mr. Hart rubbed his forehead, headache throbbing. 

He explained, “No, Charley, this was my decision alone, and I hadn’t informed anyone else. You were the first in our family to know.”
