Holding Sienna, Bruce said calmly, “A man losing to his woman isn’t shameful.” 

Frankie and Chris remained silent as Bruce, lost in his love–struck state, argued passionately. 

The four were in a heated discussion when they turned to realize Yvette and Jeremiah standing in the living room, watching them with amused expressions. Instantly, the four fell silent, waiting for the drama to unfold. 

Yvette stood lazily with her hands in her pockets and lifted her eyelids slightly. She glanced at Jeremiah across from her, her eyes flashing briefly. Jeremiah looked back at her, and a faint smile tugged at his lips as though he understood something. 

His gaze softened. ‘She really doesn’t play by the rules, does she? Why’s that so charming?‘ he thought. 

The next moment, Yvette spoke, her voice as cool as ever but laced with a touch of irreverence and arrogance. I’m hungry.

Unwilling to give up, Frankię pressed on. “Yve, if you and Jeremiah aren’t fighting, could you at least…” he said and held up two fingers, his message clear. 

‘She won’t refuse to refund us, right? After all, that’s my hard–earned money!‘ he thought. 

Yvette’s gaze fell on Frankie’s fingers, her expression unchanging She let out a soft hum then raised an eyebrow. “Oh mean the 660 thousand dollars for the tickets?” she asked. 

Frankie immediately nodded, his attitude utterly servile. “Yve, you have no idea how tough it is to make money these days. It’s a terrible economy, and I’ve been saving that money for so long,” he said. 

Watching Frankie’s shameless performance made Sienna’s lips twitch. She was tempted to throw something at him. ‘Seriously, that bad acting makes me want to toss rotten tomatoes at him!‘ she exclaimed inwardly. 

Yvette’s expression remained indifferent, and her was tone calm as she asked, “Didn’t you transfer the money voluntarily?” 

Frankie obediently nodded and replied, “Yes.” 

“I’m not refunding,” Yvette replied flatly, turning to leave without hesitation. 

Jeremiah followed her, admiring her lithe figure and unbothered demeanor. ‘She scams people with such ease, it’s almost an art,‘ he thought. 

After Yvette and Jeremiah left, Frankie sat in stunned silence. He turned to look at Bruce, Sienna, and Chris on the couch. “Did Yve just scam us so openly and self–righteously?” 

Chris and Bruce stayed quiet. It was clear now–Yvette and Jeremiah’s drama was not for ordinary people. Today, it’s 660 thousand dollars. Who knows how much it’ll be next time?‘ they thought. 

Sienna nodded and picked up a bag of chips, intending to relieve her sadness with eating.
