Sherry’s eyes gleamed.

Barbecue! She loved having grilled meat outdoors!

For some reason, she had a feeling that the man prepared the grill just for her.

John raised a brow at Sherry’s stillness. “What’s wrong? Don’t want to eat? Then, I’ll tell them to bring the things back inside.”

“No! Wait! Yes! I’ll go right now!”

He had already prepared the grill, so why not just enjoy it rather than let the effort go to waste?

Sherry got up from the bed and strode outside but was stopped at the door by the man. He put his hand behind her neck and tugged her closer into his arms.

Sherry was forced to lean on his chest, and before she could react, he said in his deep voice, “Put on a jacket before you go out.”

He then released her.

Sherry’s heart raced and her chest heaved strongly. She hummed a reply as she went to get a jacket in the closet before coming back out.

As usual, John was sitting by the window in the living room.

Outside the window was the front yard with the grill prepared for the barbecue. The grill and the ingredients were ready. All that was left was to grill them.

Sherry strode outside to the grill and deftly put all the meat on it.

She ate as she grilled, but there was too much food on the table for her to finish alone, so she called Aunt Wanda, Jason, and the other servants in the front yard to enjoy the meal together.

She served the meat on the plates and said, “You guys, dig in. Eat while it’s hot!”

Jason and the other servants were too shy to act right away.
