Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1034

Brielle had reached the end of her rope. Every move this guy made only confirmed her worst fears.

Max and King were the same person, just different sides of the same coin.

The thought was absurd and yet painfully true.

She couldn’t take her eyes off King, searching for any hint of Max in his movements, his build, the way his fingers twitched.

Back at the casino, she’d felt something familiar about him but couldn’t pin it down.

Her mind had blocked out the possibility of him being Max, which was why she’d found King so strangely familiar.

King stood up, waved the crowd away, and sauntered over to Brielle.

Brielle took a step back, then froze, realizing that if King had wanted her dead, he could’ve done it ages ago.

Even now, if he wanted to hurt her, he could do it with a flick of his wrist.

She couldn’t harm that face, but he could end her with a snap of his fingers.

So she stopped retreating, her gaze fixed on the mask.

King bent slightly, took her hand, and placed it on his mask.

“Wanna unwrap this gift yourself?”

His tone was playful, mocking, cutting deeper than any knife.

Brielle’s fingers shook, scared to pull too hard and accidentally take off the mask.

She tried to pull away, but King’s grip was firm. He started to remove the mask with her hand, her fingers curling in resistance.

Her wrist was turning red from his grip. Seeing this, he let go and wrapped his arms around her waist instead.
