Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1106

Emma lingered by the road leading back home, mulling over her decision. Eventually, she decided to buy that driver a pack of cigarettes.

Back in the day, she had treated his son, and he was the only one who didn't look at her with judgment.

"Uncle Wang, could you please deliver this package to my mom? And here's a pack of cigarettes as a thank you."

She had splurged on a good brand, and Uncle Wang's face lit up with a smile. "You didn't need to buy such fancy cigarettes, but I'll make sure your mom gets the package."

Emma sighed with relief. Inside the package was $1,700. She hadn’t undergone the surgery, but she had already paid for it, leaving her with just over a hundred dollars to her name.

Beaconsfield was the most bustling city around, and with Dustin's charm and good looks, he had to be from there.

She needed to go to Beaconsfield and ask him, face-to-face, if he wanted the child or not.

"Uncle Wang, let my mom know I need to stay in the hospital for a week for the surgery. I'll be back as soon as I'm better."

"Don't worry, Emma. I'll tell her."

Without further hesitation, Emma hopped on the train to Beaconsfield.

The long train ride was brutal. Ever since she got pregnant, her health had taken a nosedive, and she spent most of the journey on the rickety old train throwing up.

After a transfer, and a full day's travel, she finally found herself standing on the bustling streets of Beaconsfield.

It was her first time in a big city, and it was overwhelming.

But she didn't let herself get distracted or envious. She marveled at the vibrant place but stayed focused on her goal: finding Dustin.

She was here for the child, nothing else.

The furthest she had ever traveled before was to the county town to get her mother to a doctor. At fifteen, she had to almost carry her mother to school, thankful her teachers let her mother rest in a special room.

As she asked around, no one seemed to recognize Dustin's name.

Dressed lightly for the summer in her worn-out jeans, her long, straight legs stood out. Her black hair, tied carelessly into a bun, and her healthy tan drew many looks.

Some even asked where she had gotten her tan, making her self-conscious and quickening her pace.

Behind her, two girls chatted.

"Could she be looking for Dustin Lynch, the CEO of Infinity Brilliance?"

"Hardly. She's pretty, but her clothes aren't designer. Mr. Lynch's girlfriends are usually celebrities or models, not someone like her."

Emma didn't hear them; she was too exhausted, sitting on some steps. No one she asked had heard of Dustin, leaving her disheartened and on the verge of tears.

Meanwhile, Andrew leaned nearby, smoking silently as he waited for Aubree Clements to finish her photo shoot.
