Dustin was on the case of the car accident, and something didn’t add up. The crash wasn’t as bad as it was made out to be. The victim who was stretchered away seemed to bleed too much for someone not disfigured by the incident.

Whipping out his smartphone, he redialed Brielle’s number. It went straight to voicemail.

A shadow passed over Dustin's face, and he immediately sent people to check the hospital where Brielle was supposed to be. But what they found was a scene straight out of a thriller movie. The hospital was deserted, and several nurses were found unconscious on the floor, clearly knocked out cold.

Dustin was stunned for a moment, his eyes flashing with fury. He stormed into Arthur's hospital room with his crew. Arthur was awake by then, swamped with calls from senators, visibly struggling to keep up. Seeing Dustin barging in, furious, Arthur couldn’t help but smirk.

But before he could even speak, Dustin pulled out a gun, aiming it straight at Arthur’s heart. “Where’s Brielle?”

He was threatening a prince, for heaven's sake! Arthur’s face went through a rapid color change, anger flaring in his eyes. “What the hell, Dustin?!”

Dustin’s expression was terrifying, his gaze fixed menacingly on Arthur. “I’m not joking. Brielle’s missing, and it’s obviously your doing. Where is she? Speak now, or I swear this gun will.”

Arthur hesitated, realizing Dustin wasn’t bluffing. Facing death up close for the first time, Arthur was visibly shaken. But Dustin didn’t give him the luxury of time, cocking the gun ready to fire. “She’s with Myles!”

Arthur couldn’t afford any mishap now, not with the royal duties and the senators waiting on his decisions. Any slip-up could spell disaster for him and the monarchy.

Dustin sneered, “The Lynch family has been a cornerstone of North American prosperity for generations. You think you can use my sister as a pawn in your game? You’re sorely mistaken, Arthur. Call Myles now. I want Brielle back, safe and sound.”
