Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1270

Brielle caught a glimpse of Emma's face and couldn't help but be momentarily dazzled.

"Absolutely stunning," she thought.

However, everything in this boutique was on the pricier side. She turned to Peyton and asked, "Are you sure you want the most expensive one? The foundation here costs about eighty bucks a bottle."

Peyton, who usually hesitated to spend more than twenty on a pair of jeans and still wore the sneakers she picked up from a local market, didn't hesitate when it came to Emma.

"Let's go for it. Is there anything else she needs? I'm not too familiar with all this."

She showed a hint of embarrassment.

Brielle pictured Emma's face and, after a moment's thought, selected a few items. The set was almost complete.

When Peyton heard the total - seven hundred dollars - she winced but didn't hesitate to hand over the cash she had just received.

After buying the makeup, they still had three hundred left from the bracelet sale.

"Um, miss, is there a place around here where we can buy some clothes? My daughter doesn't really have anything nice to wear. Her fans suggested something edgy. What exactly does 'edgy' mean?"

Brielle raised an eyebrow. The fans did have a point. Given Emma's look, the girl-next-door style wasn't quite right.

"Might as well go all out," Brielle thought.

She led them to the third floor, and Peyton tensed up at the sight of the elevator.

As the elevator began to move, Peyton couldn't help but grab Brielle's arm, even letting out a small cry, "Oh, this box is moving!"

Others in the elevator chuckled.

Peyton's face turned red with embarrassment.

Brielle smiled slightly, "Yeah, the 'box' moves, but don't worry, it's taking us to buy clothes."

Thanks to her reassurance, Peyton felt a bit less awkward.

"No worries. Your daughter is a host at Stellar Stage Entertainment, right? It's actually my first day working there too, so we're colleagues now. No need to be so formal."

On the way down, Peyton didn't panic in the elevator but still clung to Brielle's sleeve, her lips pressed together in nervousness.

Brielle had planned to buy gifts for King and Xiao Zhi but seeing Peyton's anxiety, especially about possibly being overcharged by a taxi driver, she decided to help.

She hailed a cab, paid in advance, and reminded the driver of the destination before receiving a flurry of thanks from Peyton.

Riding in the cab, Peyton was nervous, not used to traveling alone. She clutched the bags tightly, sweating with worry about ending up in an unfamiliar place, like what Leona had done to her.

However, when the cab stopped at a familiar spot an hour later, she was relieved. She tried to pay, but the driver informed her it was already taken care of and drove off.

Excited at the thought of giving these gifts to Emma, Peyton entered her neighborhood, only to bump into Leona.

Seeing Peyton, Leona recalled being outsmarted and insulted by the "country bumpkin." She marched up to Peyton with a menacing stride.

"You! I've finally caught you, you witch."
