Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1392

Tiffanie quietly tidied up the trash by the door, then, dragging her little suitcase behind her, stepped out of the apartment complex. She had no idea where to go.

Hotels were out of the question, and she definitely didn’t feel like calling anyone.

She ended up on a park bench, setting her suitcase down and deciding this would do for the night.

But around five in the morning, she felt someone touching her leg. Jolting awake, she saw a homeless man standing beside her, his intentions clear as day.

Tiffanie kicked him away, disgust etched on her face. She grabbed her suitcase and started to leave, but the man trailed closely behind, trying to chat in broken English.

"Fifty bucks, one time, I'm in," he said, waving a crumpled flyer at her. Tiffanie glanced at it and saw her own photo.

She immediately knew who was behind this. Fifty bucks? Was that her worth now?

She laughed through her tears at the absurdity.

The homeless man mistook her laughter for agreement and grabbed her wrist, pulling her towards a nearby alley.

Tiffanie didn't put up a fight. Maybe this was how it was meant to be.

As she was shoved against a grimy wall, her mind went blank. Then, she heard hurried footsteps echoing down the alley.

Someone stepped out of the shadows and landed a punch on the homeless man, sending him sprawling.

Tiffanie, her clothes still intact, looked up in surprise to see Mason standing there, his eyes a mix of love, hate, and pain.

The homeless man, groaning in pain, scrambled away.

Tiffanie smiled at Mason. "Well, fancy seeing you here, Mason."

For Mason, it felt like a thousand knives to the heart.

Why did love have to hurt so much?
