As Brielle descended the stairs, she spotted Max, cuddling their little pup, Isaac, as they headed towards the garden. She quickened her pace to join them.
“Max, I’ve almost got all the invitations sent out,” she called out.
Their wedding was just around the corner, and the Premier Palace was a hive of activity. Ribbons, balloons, and flowers were being hauled in by the truckload.
Brielle had offered to lend a hand, but Max had gently insisted she take a breather, leaving the bustling crew of over a hundred to handle the wedding arrangements.
Despite Brielle's wish for a low-key gathering with friends, Max’s extensive network meant the guest list was anything but small, prompting a flurry of preparation.
With Isaac snug in his arms, Max stepped outside. The little pup, eyes gleaming with excitement, wriggled to get involved.
Max clearly knew what the little one loved, much like the twinkling fairy lights that adorned the inside of Premier Palace.
Once Isaac was on the ground, he scampered over to where Noir was busy with the flowers, eager to join in on the action.
The sight tugged at Max's heartstrings.
A car smoothly pulled up to the mansion, and out stepped Dustin, raising an eyebrow at the bustling scene.
“Looks like everything's falling into place,” he quipped.
Max gave a nod in acknowledgment, bypassing the brotherly banter someone like King might expect.
Dustin, who had known Max since their school days, couldn’t resist a bit of ribbing. “Hey, weren’t you all ‘bro’ this and ‘bro’ that before? What gives?”
As Dustin moved closer, reaching to clap Max on the shoulder, Max simply glanced at him and resumed orchestrating the staff.
“Buzzkill,” Dustin sighed, slightly deflated.
Tears welled up as she realized Max had been envisioning their future even then.
Slipping into the gown, she twirled, feeling every inch the bride she’d dreamed of being.
Max walked in, carrying the veil, his eyes locked onto her with deep affection.
Brielle, unable to move easily in her elaborate dress, met his gaze, a silent exchange of love and anticipation passing between them.
Max stepped forward, gently placing the veil atop her head.
“I’m no pro, and it took a lot of tweaking, but I’m just glad you like it,” he murmured.
“Like it? I absolutely love it!” she exclaimed.
