Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1438

Max was kicking back in his office at the newly relocated DreamTech Designs headquarters in Beaconsfield. This building used to house Dorsey International before it got bought out and now served as the bustling hub for DreamTech's top brass.

The conference room was unusually quiet, with everyone waiting for Max to say something. But there he was, casually scrolling through his phone, seemingly unfazed by their anticipation.

Patrick stood just behind him, noticing Max was caught up in a chat with Tiffanie. Given that Tiffanie was seeing a therapist and was emotionally fragile, Patrick wasn’t surprised. Ignoring her could be devastating, and despite Max’s replies being short and seemingly indifferent, the fact that he was replying amidst a room full of waiting execs told a different story. He wasn’t indifferent; he just wasn’t great at small talk.

Once he was sure Tiffanie wouldn’t text again soon, Max finally set his phone aside. “Let’s get back to the report,” he said.

The execs let out a collective breath of relief, having mistaken Max’s serious look for annoyance or the calm before a storm. With the meeting back on track, the atmosphere lightened considerably.

Mason had promised Tiffanie a trip to see the Northern Lights, and she was buzzing with excitement. Before they left, Mason felt the need to thank Max. Over the years, Max’s subtle support had been a lifeline for Tiffanie, helping her hold on.
