Brielle played it cool, shifting her attention to Emma instead. "How's the recovery going?" she asked.
Emma, having been under Dustin's care for quite some time, had regained some weight, but she still seemed a bit worn out. Bringing those two little ones into the world had really taken its toll on her.
"Much better," Emma replied, "the wounds have started to heal."
Brielle settled next to her, chatting for a while longer. After about an hour, she and Max headed out. Not long after they left, Aubree dropped by with a fruit basket, ready to check in.
Dustin's social media post about the arrival of his twins had taken everyone by surprise, especially Jaired. He filled the comment section with question marks, asking, "When did you get a girlfriend?" and "When did you have kids?" He even joked, "Mr. Lynch, have you been hitting the bottle?"
But when Dustin followed up with a picture of the twins sleeping, everyone finally believed he was a dad.
Meanwhile, over in North America at the Lynch family home, Sarah was in her element, tending to her beloved garden, while Raymond savored his tea. They'd only just learned that Isaac was their grandson and were over the moon.
Their joy hadn't even settled before Raymond stumbled upon Dustin's post. He immediately thought it was a prank. Turning to Sarah, he quipped, "Looks like Jett got a bit jealous of Yuna having a big kid and lost his marbles."
Sarah, ever the perceptive one, paused in her tracks and called Dustin right away. Only then did Dustin realize he hadn't filled his folks in yet, so he went over the whole Emma situation.
Sarah was taken aback, needing a moment to let it all sink in. "So you're telling us you have twins now?" she asked.
"Yep, you're grandparents again," Dustin confirmed.
Sarah and Raymond exchanged a glance—they couldn't stay put any longer and quickly hopped on a private jet to Beaconsfield.
Emma was a bundle of nerves when she heard Dustin's parents were coming. She'd never met them before, and the grand gesture made her wonder if a wedding was on the horizon, just like Dustin had hinted.
But after her initial jitters, she was hit with a wave of disappointment. Dustin seemed to care for her solely because she was the mother of his kids. As a woman, she longed for him to see her beyond that role, to notice her charm and femininity.
This realization stung, but she had to come to terms with it.
