"Mommy, since you don't have to go to the set today, I want to keep you company," said Benjamin warmly with his doe eyes.
Daryl felt confused by his words. "Bennie, how do you know that I will not go to the set today?"
Benjamin choked and looked at his father for help.
"Daddy told me!"
Daryl did not dare to question further how Zack knew it. Instead, she just nodded and said curtly, "Okay."
Secretly, Zack cast a warning glance at Benjamin.
Pretending not to see it, Benjamin sat beside Daryl and asked, "Mommy, how about we go to the amusement park together?"
Daryl pondered for a second. "Do you really want to go to the amusement park?"
"Yes!"
Holding her unhurt arm, Benjamin begged like a spoiled child. "Mommy, you and Daddy can take me there. I haven't been there for a long time!"
Hearing his words, Daryl's heart sank. She realized that it must be really hard for Benjamin, a child born in a rich family, to enjoy life. He could not enjoy the pleasure of childhood that normal children could.
Zack couldn't believe his son would pretend to be pitiful in front of Daryl. He narrowed his eyes and said coldly, "He has never been to an amusement park before because we have built one for him."
Daryl fell speechless.
She had heard a piece of news about a rich family who built a private amusement park for their child. Now, she suspected that the news must have been about Ji family.
"No. It's not like that, Mommy,"
Benjamin quickly explained. "It's not fun whenever I play alone."
Although Dillon and Rollins took turns to accompany him, they were not as considerate as his mother.
Daryl felt sorry for him.
She turned to look at Zack with pleading eyes. Seeing this, Benjamin mimicked his mother's expression. The mother and son looked at Zack pitifully with puppy eyes.
Zack could not bear to see them looking like this, especially Daryl. With her pleading look, she looked so pitiful and aggrieved that he would want to give her the whole world.
Although his mind was going haywire, he remained calm. Wearing an expressionless face, he opened his mouth to speak. "Benjamin, we can take you there, but you have to learn one more lesson at school."
"No problem!" Benjamin agreed.
Daryl was not aware that Benjamin's school was one of the top schools in the world. It was special for its unique objectives, teaching children according to their talent, skills, and interests. Benjamin both had high IQ and EQ. He was also proficient in almost all the courses in the school. However, since he was being trained to be the heir of the Ji family, his main task now was to expand his knowledge about business. It was just a piece of cake for him to learn one more course.
'Til go upstairs to change my clothes then,"
said Daryl as she stood up.
Benjamin quickly took her hand before she could take a step. "Mommy, I'll go change too. What color are you going to wear? I want to wear the same color as you!"
Daryl smiled endearingly and nodded in agreement. "Sure!"
The mother and son went upstairs as they spoke. Meanwhile, Zack, who was left on the sofa, felt dissatisfied.
Daryl and Benjamin both chose an orange sweatshirt. Although the color was the same, the styles and patterns were different. Their clothes matched each other's and it looked like a parent-child outfit from a distance.
"Daddy, let's go!"
