Mr. Powell Is Hunting for His Wife novel Chapter 56

She denied it immediately. In that case, even if she gave up on taking the revenge, she was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to fight against the power of the whole Moss family.

Diana thought for a while, and she realized that she couldn’t let things go on in this way.

No matter how gifted she was in blending, although she had the Smith family as her backer, if Mirabelle would do crazy things as she had done six years ago, she couldn’t retreat completely at all.

If Mirabelle did something insane and forced Diana to ask Brooklyn for help, Diana’s secrets would be exposed...

Diana looked down, biting her bottom lip reluctantly.

In that case, she wouldn’t be defeated by Mirabelle, but she wouldn’t win against Brooklyn.

She had underestimated how curious a person could be. If Brooklyn insisted on getting to know her secrets, he would use all kinds of means.

She still could recall what Brooklyn said to her after the evening banquet was over that day.

Diana was a woman after all. Even she had learned self-dense techniques, she couldn’t win against a man.

If it weren’t that she was smart to kiss him, probably she had exposed her secrets already.

Sweat oozed on her forehead. She had never expected that Brooklyn was the most difficult one to deal with when she was taking revenge on Mirabelle.

Diana switched on her laptop, found Mirabelle’s email address, and thought for a moment.

“Dear Ms. Moss, how are you? I’m Anna Miller. Long time no see. How’s it going with you and Mr. Powell recently? Please don’t misunderstand me, Ms. Moss. I must tell you that I’m not interested in the position of manager of the perfume department in Powell Group at all.

“I have nothing to do with Ashley’s resignation. Ms. Moss, if you can’t rest assured, please recommend yourself to Mr. Powell. Tomorrow, I’ll send you a bottle of perfume that I blended myself as my apology. Ms. Moss, you can use it to participate in the seasonal perfume contest of Sliwell City. I can promise you that you’ll become the chief perfumer in Sliwell City and I won’t participate in this contest at all.”

Diana didn’t think that it was a good time for her to make a move yet.

Unless she had already become an indispensable person to Powell Group or probably to Brooklyn, she was sure that Brooklyn would definitely choose to give up on her, his assistant, rather than giving up on the marriage with the Moss family.

After sending the email, Diana closed her laptop.

Fortunately, she had plenty of storage of her perfumes. After picking up a bottle of perfume, Diana packed it up, filled an express bill, and planned to mail it tomorrow.

The next day, Diana went to work with two dark circles under her eyes.

In the morning, she had used a lot of concealer makeup, but it couldn’t cover them at all. Hence, she decided to come to work with the dark circles.

On the way, a lot of people were pointing at her and discussing with each other.

Since Diana joined the company, she would always look pretty and enchanting. She had never looked so haggard before.

Someone nosy walked up to her and asked, “Good morning, Anna. What happened?”

Diana slightly looked up and didn’t spare any glance at others.

She curled up her lips into a smile and answered indifferently, “I’ve been working overnight. What do you think? Or you can try to work as Mr. Powell’s assistant for a month.”

Upon hearing it, the nosy person kept silent.

Everyone knew that Brooklyn was a workaholic. As long as he was still working, his assistant must be working as well.

Except for Harper, nobody could work as Brooklyn’s assistant for over a month.

With the dark circles, Diana pushed the door of the office open.

As usual, she bumped into Harper.
