“Thanks, Megan.” Sarah laughed and revealed a standard smile.
Megan’s eyes were very warm and she stroked Sarah’s head, “What’s there to thank, silly girl, this is our duty.”
Laughter.
Sarah laughed at her and then ate the porridge.
The porridge had some mushrooms and minced meat. It was delicious.
Sarah was certain that the mushroom was wild. It was very fragrant.
“Just woke up?”
At this moment, Grandpa walked in from the corner and saw that Sarah was having porridge and he frowned very slightly.
She felt slightly guilty and she put down the spoon in her hand. She still had a trace of porridge at the corner of her mouth.
“Go ahead and eat, you just woke up?”
“Yes, I feel very tired today and didn’t go to the office.”
She answered and then continued to eat the porridge.
“That’s alright, I already said don’t bother going, you just won’t listen.”
Grandpa leaned onto his walking stick and walked slowly on his own and said, “Eat more when you are hungry. You must eat even if you don’t feel like it. The child is in your abdomen.”
“I understand. I’m eating right now.”
She savors each mouthful of the delicious porridge.
Megan looked at the silly and yet obedient look and laughed to herself and then excused herself.
“Is there anything out of the ordinary?”
“No, it’s all very well.” She strokes her abdomen and feels well.
“That’s good.”
Grandpa’s face was relieved.
“How about we have the doctor over to give you a checkup after you finish your porridge?”
Sarah hesitated for a moment because the equipment was better at the hospital.
After she pondered, she will have to go for the initial checkup. Rather than making the trip, it would be far more convenient if this can be done at home.
“Okay grandpa, please have the doctor come over.”
“Okay, have your breakfast and I’ll have someone make the call.”
“Okay.”
Sarah finishes the porridge when the phone rang again.
“Hello?”
She was curious who it was because it was registered as an unknown number. She had no other means of knowing who it was.
Initially, it was a garbled noise and then an anxious voice came over, “Sarah, you there? Help me out.”
It’s Emily.
“Aren’t you going out today? How do you have the time to call me?”
“Sarah, can you please go immediately to my place and help me take my passport? I don’t have the time already and can only trouble you.”
Emily was direct and stated what she required.
“You didn’t take your passport?”
Sarah was conflicted as she doesn’t know where she stayed.
“Yes, my memory is failing me. Last night I remember placing it into my bag but when I was looking for my passport, I can’t find it. Sarah, I just remembered, it must be at the bedside table. I forgot to put it into the luggage.”
“How long do you have?”
