Anne Talbot shook her head stubbornly, unwilling to compromise. “No, I must go with you. What if Sarah has difficulty in moving? I can take care of her more conveniently than men.”
Her attitude was so firm.
However, Ernest’s eyes turned cold, and his refusal even zapped all of Anne’s firmness. “Never think about it. I won’t agree.”
...
The street in the darkness was already lighted by the lamps, but Andrew Bask was still in his office.
His tall and straight figure stood at the window, with his hands casually in his pockets.
He looked down at the quiet street out of the window, and smiled faintly.
“Mr. Bask, I can make sure that those men are all Matthew Scott’s subordinates. They have been finding the expert gynecologists in those famous hospitals, secretly.”
“Sure?”
“Yes, I will deal with those guys tonight, and I promise our plan will succeed.”
“Sandy, you finally satisfy me.”
Sandy Wilson was speechless on the phone.
Did all he had done before dissatisfy Mr. President?
Andrew frowned indifferently. “Remember to take actions secretly.”
“Yes, Mr. Bask, then I have to begin our plan.”
“Good.”
Just as the phone was hung up, some familiar voices appeared out of the office.
“Andrew, are you here? I’m gonna come in. Andrew?”
“Come in.”
With an emotionless answer, the woman pushed open the door, and then stepped in hurriedly in the high-heeled shoes.
She looked anxious, and she was just Emily, who had decided to have a journey alone days ago.
Why did she come back now?
“Sorry, it’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have asked her to help me take the passport. It’s all my fault to let Sarah suffer this. I’ve known all from the news!”
She said in a rush as she strode in.
The mincing woman sobbed with great sorrow, and kept blaming herself.
Andrew was even surprised about her return. He frowned, and a flash of doubt swept over his bottomless eyes, but in an instant, it became indifference again.
“When did you come back?”
Andrew even ignored her self-accusation, and asked her calmly.
“I come here just after my plane arrived. Andrew, just blame me. I will admit my fault.”
The woman raised her head and the guilt had filled her eyes.
She bit her lips, and looked struggling.
Andrew looked deeply at her expressions. He tongue in his mouth swept over his cheek inside, and then turned around, leaving his back facing her.
The woman opened the door with a smile.
“Come in please. There are no shoes for you. Anyway, I have to clean up...”
“Only once.” Before she finished her speaking, the man already stepped in, and asked. “Where is the photo?”
Emily secretly bit her lips, and then took the lead to her bedroom. “I’m gonna find it for you.”
The photo on the mobile phone before had been developed to a picture, in which a man tightly embraced a woman, and they were kissing fiercely. The scene was vivid and alive in front of Andrew.
“Andrew, I have been keeping this photo long ago. I know the man on it is Matthew Scott. He’s kissing Sarah, but I trust there must be some reasons. Sarah looked numb, and even she didn’t move a little, so she might be forced to do that.”
“How do you know that she was forced?”
Andrew pinched the picture with his slender fingers, and asked Emily with an odd smile.
Seeing his odd smile full of satire, Emily didn’t dare to speak more. She blamed herself again. “I just think this picture might be related to the matter. Andrew, I don’t mean anything else. You should trust Sarah, since she is your lawful wife.”
“Is there more?”
Andrew asked.
“You mean, the photos?”
“Yes.”
“No, there is only one. I always wanted to tell you about this, but I was afraid that I would hurt the feelings between you two. Since the matter forced me to do this, I have to show it to you.”
“You’re kind enough to tell me about this.”
“Andrew, I’m the one who keeps the most sincerity to hope you live a joyful life. However, marriage also needs sincerity. I even don’t know if I did this wrong, but I know you’ve really paid your sincerity much, so I don’t want you to be hurt.”
