Mr.Right novel Chapter 38

We fall in love with three people in our lifetime, each one for a specific reason. Now I don't know about anyone else but there are the three types of love I've personally encountered, each with their own depths.

The first love often happens at a young age, you eventually grow apart or call it quits over silly things. When you get older, you may look back and think it wasn't love. But the truth is, it was love for what you knew it to be, and I got highly privileged to still have my first love turned best friend with me for ten years now.

The second one is the hard one. You get hurt in this one. This love teaches us lessons and makes us stronger. It includes great pain, lies, betrayal, abuse, drama, and damage. But this is the one where we grow. We realize what we love about love and what we don't love about love. Now we know the difference between good and bad humans. We become close, careful, cautious and considerate. We already know exactly what we want and what we don't want. My experience with Tony can testify to that.

Then the third one comes blindly. No warning. It creeps on you silently. You don't go looking for this love, it comes to you. You can put up any wall you want, it will be broken down. You'll find yourself caring about that person without even trying. They look nothing like your usual crush types but you get lost in their eyes daily. You hide nothing from them. You want marriage and family with them. You thank the universe for them. You truly love them.

I couldn't let Maverick and his mom get into a fight because of me so I went visiting her house to set things right. He had no idea. I brought pansies along with me and she actually let me in whereas I thought I'd be kicked out by her securities. We had this heart to heart woman talk where I found out she knew about the mayor having an affair outside her marriage but wanted to have it confidential so as not to tarnish his reputation.

I wasn't sure if she'd totally forgiven me until she said. "Make sure I get to have a granddaughter so that I'll name her Rose." And I guess that was her own way of telling me 'welcome to the family.'

The mayor got moved to an old people's home after being diagnosed with dementia. He doesn't remember me but I visit him every week with Callum to fulfill my daughter-in-law's responsibilities.

I got to have my Reporting job restored back to me by Pansy. My boss hosted a welcome back party just for me and beamed with joy as she told me how great it was having one of her best staff back in the company. She got my name correct this time.

Garret's wife is pregnant. Yes, again. I'm not even going to talk much on that because his case is already way past what I can handle.

Let's not leave out the two love birds who got married the same day Maverick and I did. It was a double wedding. Jim finally proposed to Jacqueline on a ship cruise. He slipped the ring on her finger while she slept and when she woke in the morning with Jim beside her on the bed looking all nervous, he said a very unusual statement;

"Marry me or leave my ship."

They were in the middle of the sea and she just woke from a nap, trying to register to her brain what was going on. It was followed by a happy scream, then a squeal, then the rest of what happened is not mine to tell.

Elise traveled back to England to continue being royalty.
