Bailey's pov
" I can't believe you called the cops on the kids last night, Blake." Mom snorted in a hushed tone. I stopped abruptly on the last stair and listened to the two talk.
" Technically I called my mom. It's not like anyone would've gotten arrested. Just to scare them off." Dad's response made my jaw drop.
Did my dad really call grandma Ryn last night to stop the party?
I bit my bottom lip, not sure if to laugh or not. His intervene, well grandma Ryn's intervene I should say, did save me last night. If it were not for them I'd not be able to get out of the stupid game.
I smiled and continued on my path to the kitchen where both of my parents are. Dad is seated around the island, sipping on some steaming coffee, while mom is cutting up some fruits.
When they noticed my presence mom sent me a sheepish smile while dad looked away. " Good morning." I greeted.
" Good morning baby. Did you have a good night rest? You look tired." Mom worried her bottom lip between her teeth.
Dad turn to study me, his brows furrowing in worry.
I looked down and fit myself on a stool. " Just had a restless night."
I couldn't find comfort in my bed last night after Mira's text. I didn't text her back, which is odd of me and I know she'd find it weird.
I made a mental note to text her back soon.
" Is everything okay? It's not because of the party is it?" Mom gave dad a pointed stare and I stifle a laugh but could not hold back my smile.
My parents were adorable and I could never be mad at them.
" No it's not. It's not anything to worry about actually. It's just that I am overthinking about the next exam coming up." I shrugged and looked at the two.
I grinned. " Why would you think it had anything to do with the party? Is it because you had grandma Ryn scaring the kids?"
Dad choked on his coffee and mom comes over to quickly pat his back. The tips of his ears redden and I giggled, throwing my palm over my mouth to stop from roaring in loud laughter.
" About that, I didn't-
I shook my head, grinning widely. " It's okay dad." I reach over to pat his hand. " I'm not mad about it."
In fact I am so grateful he did. I just wish grandma Ryn did it sooner.
" I guess grandma Ryn still uses her siren." I giggled. Grandma Ryn was a retired cop but still occasionally throw on her siren to scare people off.
