"I'm fine." I tried to tell Liam as he opened the door and a gush of fresh air hit my lungs. The night sky was beautiful, calm. Liam let go of my hand and my heart ached from the loss of contact. My hand in his just felt so real, like they were made to be that way. Bound.
We walked around to a unfamiliar part of the grounds of the house.
"You have a freaking pool!" I screamed when I saw the large body of water. I ran over to the huge pool. The water looked so clean and smooth like a slice of butter. An entire full moon was reflected on the water's surface.
"You looked like you were having a mini heart attack back there." Liam honestly calls me out.
I shake my head. "I'm such a freak. I can't even have dinner with my own family. What is wrong with me?" I ask Liam, almost desperately.
"There's nothing wrong with you Emerald. Things have been difficult for you. Things have changed." Liam tells me. "Don't be so hard on yourself. And you are not a freak."
"Wish I could tell myself that." I replied with a sigh. I genuinely felt different. "What happened to me, Liam?" I asked.
"What?"
"What happened to me when the vampire bit me? Did it have any permanent effect on me? I mean, I was out for one whole freaking week!" I almost screamed.
