My Ex-husband Begs Me Back (Ayan and Camille) novel Chapter 1066

Chapter 1066: Slander

The content did not explicitly mention Grace's name, but Camille knew they were talking about Grace.

She quickly replied with a simple "Okay" and then continued her work.

With Ayan away from Hance City, Camille spent her entire day at the company. She had her meals with Sienna, making Sienna playfully complain, "I suspect I'm just Mr. Simpson's stand-in. As long as Mr. Simpson isn't with you, I have to fill in."

Camille smiled and didn't say anything, but her good mood was hard to conceal.

However, good moods often invite those who want to spoil them. Just as they were about to leave the office in the afternoon, Page showed up again.

This time, she didn't directly come into the office but waited downstairs in the office building.

When she saw Camille and Sienna leaving together, she quickly walked over. She looked at Camille with a smile and said, "Cami, are you done with work?"

Camille's expression instantly turned blank, and she looked at Page indifferently, her footsteps coming to a halt.

Camille silently stared at Page, not saying anything.

But Page didn't mind. On the contrary, she took the initiative and said, "Cami, you don't have any plans for later, right?"

Camille glanced at Sienna, who was beside her, and Sienna quickly chimed in, "We've made plans to have dinner together."

Page just smiled and said, "Miss King is no stranger, and you're such good friends. We can all have dinner together."

They had dinner together last night, and now Page wanted them to eat together again. Camille wasn't willing.

However, before Camille could speak, Page took the initiative and said, "I want to visit Timmy. I've already made an appointment with your mother-in-law. We'll have dinner at the Simpson's mansion tonight. Since you have plans with Miss King, why don't you invite her to join us at the Simpson's mansion?"

Page's words made Camille's eyebrows involuntarily furrow, her expression turning icy. Her voice revealed her displeasure as she asked, "What do you mean? Did you ask for my consent before going to the Simpson's mansion?"

Camille's emotions were getting stirred.

Page, however, remained unfazed, and her response was remarkably composed. She looked at Camille and said, "I'm just going to the Simpson's mansion for dinner. I want to see Timmy, and I've arranged it with your mother-in-law. "Cami, I even came here to pick you up, wanting to go with you and also seeking your advice on what gift to bring for Timmy. Can't you even give me this opportunity?""

Page wore an innocent and aggrieved expression, as if Camille's words had wounded her. But Camille was well aware that she couldn't be hurt by such words.

Camille let out a disdainful snort and spoke in an icy tone, "Do you think you need this opportunity? You don't actually need it. You're only doing this for your own benefit and agenda. I thought we were clear enough. You want me to join forces with you against him. I haven't agreed, so you're pressing me so hard?"

Camille stared at her indifferently, her eyes filled with coldness.

Page was slightly taken aback and then calmly replied, "I don't think that way. I do hope you'll agree to my proposal, but I've given you time to consider. I've also said I genuinely want to change. Timmy is your child, and you're my daughter. Is it wrong for me to care about my grandson?"

"I don't need it, and neither does Timmy. We don't need your kindness. How you treated me before is how you should treat me now. I feel like it's destined to be this way between us, unchangeable. So, why not just maintain the way it was before?" Camille's emotions were running high because this concerned Timmy, and she couldn't help but be emotional.

Even though Page hadn't done anything and merely wanted to visit Timmy, Camille wasn't willing.

Timmy was almost two years old now. Why hadn't Page thought about being good to Timmy before this? Why did it only occur to her now? It seemed purposeful, didn't it? Did Page think that by being good to Timmy, she could make Camille soften up and agree to the collaboration she proposed?

As this thought occurred to Camille, her expression became even less pleasant.
