My Ex-husband Begs Me Back (Ayan and Camille) novel Chapter 571

Chapter 571 Shock and Awe

Ayan sat there in control of the room, as Camille, who hadn't said a word since he arrived, kept her eyes on him.
She had always known Ayan's ability to argue with people. After all, she had personally experienced it. At that time, she only found it really difficult to deal with him, but now after watching him treat others, she realized that he probably still had sapred her some mercy.
Camille pursed her lips slightly, with an unspoken emotion in her heart.
Her thoughts were quickly pulled back by Austin's words.
Austin's face had been floating with a gloomy stiffness since Ayan had arrived, and those cold eyes were full of malice.
He said, "Although Master Simpson is in charge of the project, you also need Mr. and Mrs. Bell's agreement. And Norman Group has put so much effort into this project so far. Should Norman Group be kicked out of the game just because of Master Simpson's words ? That goes too far, doesn't it?
Ayan simply smiled, unaffected or threatened by his words.
Austin didn't give up. He also stood up, stared coldly at Ayan, and said, "If Master Simpson really wants to go his own way, then let Mr. and Mrs. Bell and other partners comment on it and do us justice!
Ayan laughed disdainfully.
His words were full of sarcasm: "Is Master Norman going to be like a child crying to his parents when he does something wrong instead of learning to take the consequences himself?"
These words undoubtedly ruined Austin's backup plan completely.
If Austin was going to find other people to help him stay on the project, then it would be childish. After all, only children would seek help from adults when they lost a fight. If Austin didn't want to lose his reputation, Norman Group would have to withdraw directly from the project .
It was impossible to predict how much Norman Group would lose, so Austin wouldn't be tempted to get caught up in a battle of words.
It gradually shifted from Camille's affair to the conflict between the two companies. Camille also interrupted at the right time: "Master Norman, just an apology. I don't think it 's that important to accept it or not, right? The reason why you two forced me to give a response is just to create a persona in front of everyone who knows what's wrong and can change. But to be able to change is to do it from your own heart without being forced. It's not like Mrs. Norman who had no guilt from the moment it happened until she apologized and could just walk in front of me as if nothing had happened. Would you accept that if it were you, Master Norman?"
Camille's mind had never changed, and she wouldn't compromise with anyone else unless she wanted to.
She didn't want Ayan to do anything to harm the Simpson Group's interests because of this, so she quickly wrapped it up and told Austin, "Let's call it a day! I'm not the one who's going to end up looking bad if this goes on, so I hope Master Norman will think about it."
Austin listened to the couple say everything they wanted one by one, and he was too angry to say anything with a sour face. But on the surface, he still had to maintain the most basic etiquette, especially now that they were in still a partnership.
Seeing this, Ayan also felt that the time was ripe, and said indifferently, "If Master Norman has finished his words, then please leave."
The dark eyes were compelling. He did not look at Austin for a moment, raised his brow slightly, his thin lips outlined with a smile, though not hostily angry, full of the deterrent force that could not be denied.
Austin had been forced to the edge. He had no choice but to jump.
So he took a stiff step toward the door as Camille and Ayan watched. And as he was about to reach the door, the low man's voice rang out again: "Master Norman, the hospital should have told you that Mrs. Norman's present condition has met the conditions for discharge, so what is Master Norman's next plan?"
"What does Master Simpson mean by that?" Austin stopped and immediately turned to face Ayan and questioned him.
Compared to his mood swings, Ayan was unruffled.
He didn't even give Austin a look, just lifted his eyelids and looked straight ahead at the floor-to-ceiling windows. His words were so cold that they carried an invisible indifference: "Master Norman has always felt that the Simpson family and I have an unshirkable responsibility for your wife's health? Now that I have assumed this responsibility, and Mrs. Norman is now eligible for discharge according to the doctor's professional judgment. it should now be given to Master Norman as the husband's responsibility, and it has nothing to do with the Simpson family and me in the future. What do you think? "
Austin seemed a little surprised, his eyes fixed on Ayan, pausing for a while before saying, "It's better for Master Simpson to talk to Cora about this, after all, she's the one involved."
Ayan clenched his lips and snorted without further talking, but his reaction was enough to respond to Austin's statement.
Austin walked out of the office with a stern face, and according to Yessica, who later confided in Sienna, Austin's face was so sour that she couldn't find the right words to describe it.
Again, a brief silence fell over the office.
After a few seconds, Ayan swiveled his chair to face Camille at her desk, and he stared at her with a gentle look in his deep eyes and asked, "Why aren't you talking? What's on your mind?"
Camille raised her eyes to meet his and said faintly, "No."
He looked like he didn't believe it, but didn't say anything. His narrowed eyes were revealing his good mood. "There's nothing you want to ask me?"
Camille pursed her lips slightly. Of course she did, and she asked, "What brings you here?"
"I knew Austin wouldn't stop. He'd come back to you sooner or later. So I asked Kian to arrange for someone to keep an eye on him." The only thing he was glad about was that Austin wasn't looking for her at Maple Leaves Mansion, at least she wasn't alone in the company and Austin didn't dare to be too blatant.
Camille said nothing immediately after hearing his answer, but only looked at him with complicated eyes.
Finally, after a long pause, she said, "Thank you!"
Ayan laughed out loud without a smile: "Is it just to thank me with words?"
Isn't it to thank someone by inviting them to a restaurant or home for dinner? How could she just say "thank you" to him?
Camille looked at him, "So I'll take you to dinner?"
"Is there any other choice?" He pushed his luck even further.
Camille, somewhat perplexed, said thoughtfully, "Buy you a present?"
Although no one would take the initiative to ask others to thank him or ask for a specified reward, Ayan said it and did help her, so she couldn't be petty, right?
Camille's words made Ayan smile, a clear smile shone through his handsome face, which was also softened than it had been just now. He said softly, "Yes, then buy me a present, and you should pick it yourself, okay?"
