The phone rang for nearly a minute before the person on the other end picked up.
"Who’s on the line?" Xander's voice was full of arrogance and disdain.
Byron frowned and replied calmly. "It's me, Byron Lawrence."
As if he had just reacted, Xander gave an exaggerated response, "Oh! So, it’s President Lawrence. I assumed it was someone being inconsiderate to call me while I was at work."
This was almost a backhanded comment directed at Byron.
However, Byron seemed not to have heard the sarcasm in his words and apologized frankly, "It seems I may have called at the wrong time. If this is a bad time, then call me back when you’re free, Mr. Lancer.”
After that, Byron kept quiet, but he did not hang up the phone immediately.
Xander thought Byron was going to hang up the phone and became a little anxious. "Wait!"
Byron frowned slightly. Xander's reaction was within his expectations.
"Since you’ve called, I must make time even if I’m busy!"
Xander sneered, "I wonder how I can help you, President Lawrence? I remember that the three-day period isn’t up yet, right?"
Byron's expression did not change. "It doesn’t matter which day it is as long as I’m willing to give in, does it? I think your original intention was not to harm Rosalie, right?"
Most of Xander's requests were related to Rosalie.
If Rosalie was harmed in any way, even if Xander acquired the research institute, he would not be able to reap the research institute’s maximum potential!
Xander's tone turned proud upon hearing what Byron said. "You’re right.”
Byron ignored his increasingly arrogant tone and said, "Since we have reached a consensus, do you have time tonight? Let's meet and talk. By the way, please bring the antidote with you."
