"President Lawrence, how is it? What’s your decision regarding my third request?"
With a sinister smile, Xander pushed further after explaining the origin of the drug.
Byron was taken aback. Then, he quickly regained his composure and turned to meet his gaze. "Deal."
Xander was dissatisfied. "Only verbally? Any concrete evidence? Without evidence, how do I know if you’ll make good on your word? Although I believe in your character, I’ve worked hard to get this antidote. If you deceive me, won’t I be made a fool?”
Byron frowned slightly. "What evidence do you want?"
Xander raised his eyebrows adamantly. "A marriage certificate, of course. It's a bit late now, and the Civil Affairs Bureau is probably off working hours. However, if you issue a public statement now, I'm willing to accept it."
Xander’s gaze on Byron was intended to provoke.
Among these three requirements, he knew best which one was the most unacceptable to Byron.
After he made this request, Byron's struggling expression was also the moment Xander looked forward to the most.
He wanted to savor this moment when President Lawrence, who always had an air of superiority, showed a pained and tormented expression in front of him!
"Alright."
Byron nodded and agreed without changing his expression.
Xander frowned slightly. He was surprised and utterly dissatisfied. "What did you say?"
Byron's reaction was beyond Xander's expectations, which made the latter extremely disappointed!
‘Byron is just shrugging this off like it’s nothing? I’ve been waiting for this moment the most!
‘Shouldn’t you at least struggle a bit being forced to leave Rosalie?
‘How could you agree so readily?’
There was even a sarcastic smile on the corner of Byron's mouth. "Since I asked you out, I’ve already thought through these three requirements. However, I didn’t have time to prepare what you wanted. It was my negligence. Let me go back and get ready."
With that, he got up and left.
There was no sign of begging for mercy throughout their discussion. On the contrary, he still appeared lofty as if everything was under his control!
