Byron invited Chloe to have lunch at a high-end restaurant as per Rosalie’s request.
When the couple arrived at the restaurant, Chloe happened to arrive as well.
Rosalie was not too dressed up; she simply had some skincare products on. Chloe's makeup was very delicate, she looked glamorous with a touch of nobility.
However, with just one glance, Chloe could see what a natural beauty Rosalie was, despite not wearing any makeup.
The Rosalie who landed in the hospital before looked haggard. Chloe never expected her to look completely different after recovery.
Chloe was slightly jealous inside. She still had blemishes on her face that must be covered with proper makeup.
"Hello, Miss Lincoln! We meet again!" Rosalie was generous. She greeted her before Byron could speak.
"Hello, Miss Jacobs! You’re so beautiful! No wonder, Byron still misses you after all these years." Chloe could not help being a little sour.
‘What on earth?’ Byron was stunned for a moment and quickly quipped. "Rosalie is indeed good-looking, but I am not such a superficial person. Appearance is not everything to me."
These words made Rosalie smile and glanced at Byron.
Chloe hurriedly added. "Of course, Miss Jacobs is not only beautiful but also has amazing abilities. Not only is she a well-known genius doctor, but she is also a leader in high-end medical technology. How many women of this caliber can there be in the world?"
Rosalie quickly shook her head at the excessive praise. "Miss Lincoln, please don't say that. I just had a small achievement. This time, you’ve sacrificed so much for my illness. You had a fake marriage with Byron under all that pressure, and I’m concerned your family must’ve misunderstood you. Thank you so much!"
These words were sincere.
However, with Chloe’s cautious character, she could not help staring at Rosalie when those words fell into her ears.
She thought Rosalie was testing her.
Chloe quickly responded. "Oh, don’t worry, it's okay. I’ve already explained it clearly to my family. The marriage certificate is fake and has been destroyed long ago. You don’t need to worry about it, Miss Jacobs."
