At this time, Byron did not notice anything amiss.
His mind was completely on the little woman.
"Have some water, you’ve been talking for so long," Byron handed Rosalie a glass, and she took it with a smile.
This involuntarily made Chloe feel lonely again.
Byron did not even bother with the decorum now. He did not even ask her if she was thirsty.
She could only call out to the server. "Waiter, I'm not used to your tea. Give me a glass of water with a slice of lemon."
The glass of water with lemon arrived along with the food.
Chloe saw it again. Byron kept adding food to Rosalie's plate. However, Byron did not express anything to her as a guest.
This made her feel awkward.
‘If I had known earlier, I would not have come.
‘Why didn't I turn this invitation down? I’ve lost my posture to let Rosalie treat me to this meal.’
The atmosphere turned quiet several times, so Chloe initiated the conversation. "Byron, Miss Jacobs, why didn't you bring the kids out for dinner today?"
She knew very well that today was not a weekend. The kids must be at school.
"The kids are at school, so we didn't bring them today. Tomorrow is the weekend, so we’ll take them out for fun."
Rosalie responded while putting food on Byron's plate. She remembered that Byron liked to eat this type of fish.
Chloe could no longer stand the atmosphere, so she continued. "I wanted to see your three kids. I heard they are all very good-looking, aren't they?"
Byron suddenly became interested in the mention of his kids. He responded, "Yeah, they are. After all, it's my kids with Rosalie. How bad could the genetics be?"
The more Chloe heard it, the more flustered she was.
