Chapter 38 This Woman Was Married?
Rosalie could not help but be slightly startled. After a moment, she looked at Byron with some apprehension. She did not confess about the time Estie had gone missing back then. However, she likely could not hide from this man. Thinking of this, Rosalie said hesitantly, “It‘s probably because... I‘ve helped her before. I picked her up when she got lost the last time.”
Andrius had not expected this. He looked at Estie, then at Rosalie. He lamented, “You two sure are destined.”
Were they?
Thinking of Estie‘s identity, Rosalie’s lower lip tugged with self–mockery before she looked up with a calm expression again. “Perhaps.” Andrius did not notice the abnormality from her either as he got up and suggested, “Since my grandpa needs another hour, why don‘t we wait downstairs and have some drinks? You‘ve worked hard, Dr. Jacobs.”
Seeing that he changed the topic, Rosalie was inexplicably relieved and agreed noncommittally.
Answering through action, Byron immediately rounded the back of the sickbed and left. He was about to pick up Estie but noticed that the little girl had no intention of looking for him. Estie had stayed by Rosalie’s side the entire time after she handed her the handkerchief. When she heard that they were going downstairs, she reached out without thinking, wanting to hold the hand of the beautiful lady.
The pretty lady had held her hand just like this the last time they met.
