Chapter 825
Kayson was indifferent to it and replied firmly, “Mr. Pattingson, it‘s not that I don‘t want to make peace with the Cadogans. It‘s that they won‘t possibly make peace with me.
“I have to give up on Sadie and family if I want peace with the Cadogans. That‘s impossible.”
No matter how much Kayson grumbled about it, his mentor, the person who had raised him, owed a favor to
the Wolfendens. Even if he had to sacrifice himself, he would return the favor.
Waylon advised, “Kayson, I can be the mediator and restrain both sides so the Cadogans won‘t corner the Wolfendens...”
“Do you think people would be willing to be oppressed for life, Mr. Pattingson?” Kayson asked instead.
Waylon fell silent. Did he have to think about this question? Not at all! After a moment, he said, “If you meet other troubles, you can contact me. I‘ll help you where I can.”
Kayson understood what he meant and replied with a smile, “Okay.”
Waylon was obviously withdrawing as well. The Cadogans
were like a massive boulder that even he, the provincial chief, was unwilling to clash with them.
“Also...” Waylon suddenly sounded helpless. “Mr. Windsor has asked me to let you know that he‘s fulfilled the three initiatives to save you he‘s promised, so he doesn‘t owe you anything from now on.”
Kayson paused before smiling nonchalantly. “Alright, thank Mr. Windsor for me.”
Kayson looked calm when the call ended. From Waylon and Swenson‘s response, he could tell how tough the Cadogans were to handle.
At present, he was more curious about how Hugh or Liam had managed to offend such a powerful force. It felt even more bizarre that the Cadogans could easily wipe Hugh and his family off the surface of the earth , yet they did not do so.
