Priscilla still couldn't let go of her frustration. She just couldn't understand why Joe loved Skylar so much.
But even Trina could see that Skylar's figure was far superior to hers.
If only she were Joe's wife—her figure would surely be even better. Behind her, there must be a whole team helping Skylar maintain her appearance.
She took a deep breath and said, "A wise person knows when to swallow their pride. Some things aren't worth holding on to. It's just a matter of apologizing to Mrs. Martin, right? Fine, I'll go apologize."
"That's the spirit! Look, things may seem tough now, but remember, fortunes change. Right now, Joe is treating you coldly because of Mrs. Martin, but who knows? Maybe he'll get tired of her soon. When that happens, your opportunity will come." Trina immediately offered words of encouragement.
…
20 minutes later, Joe and Vivian went off to rest and grab a bite to recharge.
Skylar went to the restroom. The downside of going out on weekends was the crowd. There was always a line for the restroom.
While waiting, she suddenly caught a whiff of a fragrance. It wasn't overpowering, but it was quite seductive.
She glanced up, surprised to see Priscilla standing beside her. That was quite a coincidence.
"Mrs. Martin, may I take a moment of your time?" Priscilla asked with a smile.
Skylar raised an eyebrow. "What's the matter?"
Seeing Skylar's raised eyebrow, Priscilla couldn't help but think of how Joe had reacted when he saw her earlier. After years of marriage, they had grown to embody a shared air of authority, commanding the same intimidating presence. It instinctively made her feel a bit uneasy.
"Mrs. Martin, what I said earlier to my friend was just a joke between us. I know Mr. Martin is married to you, and I would never be foolish enough to do anything inappropriate. Please believe me." Priscilla's apology came across as sincere.

More chapters please...
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
