Vivian thought, "Dad loves both mom and me."
Skylar nodded, giving Joe a knowing look. "Dad really is amazing."
Joe's lips twitched, and he immediately understood what she was implying.
After putting Vivian to bed, Joe returned to their bedroom. The bedroom led to a small private hot spring pool. Skylar was sitting by the pool, sipping a glass of red wine.
When she saw Joe approaching, she poured him a glass and handed it over. After a full day of activities, it was nice to finally have a moment of quiet.
"Did you hear what the employees said today? I'll have HR fire her when work resumes the day after tomorrow," Joe said, a hint of regret in his voice.
He should have had Priscilla let go right after he returned from his business trip.
Ambition in the workplace was a good thing, but when someone had ambition for the wrong person, it showed poor judgment. Keeping such a person around was of no use to the company.
Skylar was a little surprised at first. She had nearly forgotten about it. "That's not what I was thinking about."
"It's not?" Joe asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No. I was thinking about Harvey and Alina. We haven't heard from them in a few days. Neither of them posted on Instagram, and Harvey hasn't said much in the family group. I feel like Harvey might have noticed something." Skylar speculated.
It was only natural for her to be concerned about Harvey as his sister. Or maybe, since she knew some things about Alina, she couldn't help but think more about it.
Joe took a sip of red wine and glanced at the moon with Skylar before speaking slowly, "If he's noticed, it's a good thing. Don't worry."
Charles, Steven, and Harvey wouldn't just sit by and let anyone bully them. They weren't that easy to push around.

More chapters please...
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
