My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul novel Chapter 1787

Aiken couldn't help but think of Wendy whenever he was alone.

Skylar sighed. "Her decision to leave Jipsburg means she wants to start anew. We've spoken a few times, but she hasn't mentioned you."

It seemed Wendy had moved on from their relationship. Aiken's face turned slightly pale at Skylar's words. Then, he let out a self-deprecating laugh. "It's better that she didn't mention me," he said.

After all, he knew he had been terrible when it came to relationships.

For the longest time, he had believed Skylar held the most special place in his heart. If Skylar had ever wanted to marry him, he wouldn't have hesitated.

Because of this belief, he had never valued Wendy as much as he should have, thinking of her as just someone he liked.

How laughable. Now that he had lost her, he realized no one could replace her.

Unknowingly, Skylar had become just a friend to him—someone he admired and respected, but not in the way a man liked a woman.

Skylar didn't know how to console Aiken. On one hand, it was hard not to pity Aiken for losing the one he loved. But on the other hand, it was his own choices that led to this.

And now, even though he regretted it and wanted to reconcile with Wendy, her attitude had made it clear—she wanted a clean break. Even if Aiken tried to seek her out, she likely wouldn't look back.

Not everything had a second chance.

Aiken's face turned even paler before he chuckled bitterly again. "Alright, I get it. Don't worry, I won't disturb her. I don't even have the courage to try."

After Charles finished his phone call with Skylar, his expression became very serious, making Thelma tense up beside him.
