Vivian's expression hardened when she heard the word "mistress". However, her anger wasn't directed at Moana but at Hadwin.
Hadwin felt a pang of guilt and avoided Vivian's gaze.
Turning to Moana, he spoke in a cold, detached tone. "I told you a week ago that we were breaking up, didn't I? Vivian only agreed to be my girlfriend today. You'd better watch your language. I've given you everything you deserve. Are you complaining that I didn't pay you enough for the breakup?"
His words struck like a dagger to the heart. Moana's face was visibly drained of color, and the chill in the air seemed to match the tension between them.
Moana had carefully chosen her outfit to flaunt her figure, hoping to catch Hadwin's eye. But instead, he defended Vivian without a second glance at her.
Her eyes burned with anger, but there was also a hint of shame. She turned away briefly, her voice trembling as she asked, "Is she even 18? Hadwin, are you seriously messing around with a teenager?"
Hadwin's face darkened, his voice icy. "Get lost!" He couldn't let Vivian hear such a disgusting accusation.
Vivian felt the need to defend herself. "I've already had my 18th birthday, and I'll be 19 in a few months."
At her age, in Manfred's time, she would have been considered an adult.
Moana flushed with embarrassment, her anger bubbling to the surface. "You're just tired of me and moved on to someone younger! I misjudged you," she shouted. Her voice was cold, seething with rage.
"If you're so high and mighty, return all the money and gifts I gave you!" he snapped. Hadwin knew exactly what kind of woman Moana was. She spoke of morals, but in reality, she was nothing but greedy, always wanting more.
At his words, Moana fell silent. She stomped her foot in frustration, then turned and stormed off.
Watching her leave, Vivian rolled her eyes at Hadwin. "You made me, a newly-turned adult, pretend to be your girlfriend over and over. Hadwin, can you be any more decent?"

More chapters please...
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
