Vivian brought the medicine to Manfred.
However, his leg was covered in blood. The gruesome sight startled Vivian.
"Your leg—what happened? Did those two hurt you? Take the medicine first, and then I'll give you an injection. After that... I'll treat your wound."
Vivian quickly calmed herself down.
Manfred's eyes were bloodshot as he looked at Vivian. At that moment, he felt all his restraint had been worth it. "I stabbed myself. It's nothing."
Vivian instantly understood why he had done it. The drug must have made it hard for him to maintain control, and he had resorted to pain to stay rational.
Her eyes reddened as she nodded repeatedly. "Manfred, you're amazing! You held on."
She quickly had him swallow two pills and skillfully administered the injection.
Then she asked where the medicine she had previously given him was stored, intending to bandage his wound.
Manfred pointed under the bed. "There's a hidden compartment down there."
Following his instructions, Vivian found the medicine.
The hidden compartment was deep, but she didn't venture further in. She only took the medicine and came back out.
Manfred's eyes grew clearer—likely due to the combined effect of the medicine and injection. His mind stabilized, and the discomfort subsided.
Vivian focused on treating his wound, her touch gentle, careful not to hurt him.
In truth, his pain wasn't from the wound anymore but from the constant turmoil in his mind. Yet now, all he could focus on was her face.

Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
