Chapter 330
Jenny’s words held a subtle hint of reproach as she expressed dissatisfaction at Joe’s lack of self–care.
Meanwhile, Skylar quietly took a sip of her water.
At the mention of “insomnia“, Paul immediately directed his gaze at Skylar. Lately, Joe’s sleep issues had improved notably, thanks to Skylar. But it seemed like Joe hadn’t mentioned this to Jenny before.
Yet, Paul sensed an unspoken distance between Joe and Skylar brought about by Jenny’s presence.
After Jenny spoke a few more words, she looked somewhat weary. So, Joe accompanied her back to her ward, leaving Paul behind to look after Skylar.
“Um… Ms. Scott and Mr. Martin, they grew up together, and…” Paul felt compelled to clarify Joe and
Jenny’s relationship to prevent any misunderstandings for Skylar.
Skylar then learned about their relationship from Paul’s explanation.
Jenny was Joe’s nanny’s daughter. An accident had taken Jenny’s mother’s life while she’d been protecting Joe, after which he’d took full responsibility for Jenny.
Jenny had come to Korel City three years ago to further her studies, claiming that she was drawn to its
romantic charm.
Jenny had been admitted to the hospital a few days ago because she was feeling unwell. After that, she had been diagnosed with heart issues and needed surgery in the next couple of days.
Thus, Joe had rushed over from Jipsburg City for her surgery.
Paul emphasized their sibling–like bond, with Joe caring for Jenny as if she were his own sister.
After Jenny’s mother had passed away that year, Gloria had actually reached out to Jenny’s other relatives. But they had declined to take her in, leaving Gloria to raise her.
Skylar smiled after grasping the situation. She said, “I see.”
“Yeah, that’s the gist of it. So Mr. Martin was just concerned about Ms. Scott’s health. The surgery’s probably scheduled for tomorrow,” Paul added.
Skylar nodded. Having eaten breakfast and regained some strength, she felt revitalized.
“Mr. Zeigler, could you check with the doctor if I can be discharged now? It’s just a stomach issue, and I don’t want to tie up a bed in a busy ward.”
“Sure, I’ll go find out,” Paul replied.
Once Paul left, Skylar found herself alone in the room. She then headed to the bathroom to freshen up. Upon returning, she was surprised to find Joe back so soon and already seated on the couch.
“I had Mr. Zeigler check with the doctor. If everything’s okay, I’d like to be discharged,” Skylar said with a smile.

Joe sensed a slight distance from Skylar and asked, “About Jenny, I hadn’t mentioned her earlier. Would you like to know anything?”

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
