Chapter 475
Marriage and divorce had become commonplace. A divorce wasn’t a
big deal as long as it achieved a goal.
With this in mind, Annie texted Steven a picture of a home interior. The picture showcased a cozy and family–oriented design.
“If we ever have a place together, I hope it looks like this,” the text
read.
Steven might have been busy since he didn’t respond immediately.
Annie put down her phone and walked over to the window, gazing at
the view outside.
Living in an upscale apartment, she enjoyed a spectacular view. She
could see the distant river.
She had bought this upscale apartment, thinking she and Joe could
come here and sip red wine while admiring the scenery. It was
incredibly romantic, especially during sunset.
Unfortunately, that might never happen–unless Joe got tired of Skylar
one day.
Yesterday, she had a call with Rowan. Rowan told her that Joe was
serious about Skylar. He had never seen Joe treat any woman the
way he treated Skylar.
Annie took a deep breath, trying to calm the jealousy rising in her
heart. She also thought about the time she saw Skylar at Yancey
Residence. Skylar was more composed than she had imagined.

Even now, Skylar remained passive despite their past conflicts. Annie
expected her to make moves, anything to stop Annie from being with
Steven.
“Skylar, what are you thinking?” Annie had been pondering this for
days, yet she found no answer.
No matter what Skylar was thinking, it wouldn’t change Annie’s
decision. She was determined to marry Steven as soon as possible.
Two days later, Skylar woke up sore all over. She couldn’t explain. Joe’s behavior the night before. He’d been much rougher than usual.
Just as she tried to get up, a hand tightened on her waist, holding her
firm.
“Do you really think we’re just cohabiting?” Joe’s voice was deep and
cold, with a hint of menace.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
